Orgreave Lakes: Rock Pipit - 1 - Among 30 Meadow Pipits around small lake 07:40 ; Kingfisher - 1 ; Linnet - C.40 - Around weedy mound ; Rock Pipit - 1 - still present at 15.15. Feeding on shoreline and adjacent herbage on south side of eastern end of causeway near gap. Then probably flew to island with mixed Meadow Pipit and finch flock ; Pink-footed Goose - 133 - NW at 15.38 ; Grey Partridge - c.12 - 6 by herby mound west of small lake, then 6 (1 singing) south of small lake ; Little Grebe - 1 - small lake ; Lapwing - 13 ; Snipe - 1 - on island ; Cormorant - 8 ; Stonechat - 2 - male and female on the mound

R Don, Norfolk Bridge: Goosander - 1 - redhead

Ramsley Moor: Pink-footed Goose - 234 ; Fieldfare - 9 ; Great Spotted Woodpecker - 2 - High to S W

Rawmarsh:Haugh Rd: Starling - c1200 - SW in one group @ 07.30

Shepherd Wheel: Kingfisher - 1 - 10.25 Flew up stream, possibly same as lower pond

Barlow Common: 319 - 7 ; Lapwing - 45 ; Skylark - 9+ ; Linnet - 12 ; Starling - 80+ ; Pied Wagtail - 1 - all the above species, including one of the Buzzards, were together in a huge mixed flock in one field.

Canklow Woods: Common Buzzard - 2 - in the air together at 1300

Carr Vale: GREAT WHITE EGRET - 2 - flew NW at 08:00 - so presumably in SBSG recording area

Crookes Valley Park: Brambling - 1 - uncommon here ; Moorhen - 5 ; Coot - 5 ; Grey Heron - 1 ; Treecreeper - 1 ; Coal Tit - 2

Greystones: Woodpigeon - 100+ - flew over observer's garden, heading south

Middleton Moor: Wigeon - 1 ; Shoveler - 2 - Males ; Lesser Black-backed Gull - 390 ; Yellow-legged Gull - 2 - Adults

Midhope Res: Curlew - 2

Gillfield Wood: Tree Sparrow - 5+ - in the usual wintering area on the edge of the wood and adjacent back gardens on Rowan Tree Dell ; Grey Wagtail - 1 - singing towards northern end ; Mistle Thrush - 1 - singing

Intake: Woodpigeon - 1 - Recently fledged juvenile feeding in observers garden.

Ladies* Spring Wood: Pink-footed Goose - 84 - NW at moderate height at 11.19

Millhouses: Redwing - 72 - One flock of 72 SW.

Peat Pits: Golden Plover - c100 - dropped in at dusk

Poynton Wood: Kestrel - 1 - over clearing at northern tip by Twentywell Lane ; Bullfinch - 5+ - including flock of 5 at clearing at northern tip by Twentywell Lane

Rotherham Centre; Main Street: Goldcrest - 1 - found dead beneath N-facing wall of council offices, presumably after flying into lit window overnight
