  • R Don, Stevenson Rd: CASPIAN GULL - 1 - 1w again with small gull flock
  • R Sheaf, Broadfield Road: Mandarin - 3 - 2m, 1f
  • Shepherd Wheel: Kingfisher - 1 - flew up from river with fish and sat in tree over looking top dam feeding
  • Stannington: Great Spotted Woodpecker - 1 - female feeding in trees on Anvil Close ; Long-tailed Tit - 6 - Feeding on fat balls
  • Thrybergh CP: Little Grebe - 4 ; Mute Swan - 13 - inc 2jvs still with ads ; White-fronted Goose - 1 - left north at 0910 with150+glag after birds in field were shot at by farmer ; Greylag Goose - 155+ - left n after gun shots; 40+ returned later ; Canada Goose - 74 ; Gadwall - 2 ; Pochard - 6 - m ; Tufted Duck - 32 ; Red-legged Partridge - 2 ; Water Rail - 2 ; Lapwing - 165+ ; Black-headed Gull - 200+ ; Long-tailed Tit - 6 - 3pr ; Goldfinch - 30 ; Greenfinch - 10+ ; Bullfinch - 32 - inc.2-2-2-7-19 ; Reed Bunting - 6 ; Yellowhammer - 2

  • Barlow Common: Lapwing - 46 ; Skylark - 04-May ; Fieldfare - 30+ - in mixed winter thrush flock of 100+ ; Redwing - 70+ ; Song Thrush - 1 ; Stock Dove - 3
  • Broomhill: Waxwing - 3 - 3 flying between trees in garden of Lawson Rd and junction of Manchester Rd and Fulwood Rd.
  • Centenary Riverside: Goosander - 1 - Male, river ; Mallard - 9 - 6 male, 3 female. ; 321 - 1 ; Cormorant - 1 ; Long-tailed Tit - 8 ; Wren - 2 ; Moorhen - 3
  • Hangingwater garden: Siskin - 3 - 2m + 1f photo through window
  • Hillsborough Park: Mute Swan - 3 - pair of adults plus 1 2nd cy ; Greylag Goose - 1 - + 2 largely white birds (1 possibly not pure Greylag) ; Tufted Duck - 2 - males ; 324 - 1 - Canada x Barnacle Goose (still paired with the Greylag)
  • Millhouses: Blackcap - 2 - One of each gender at feeders

  • Brownhills Lane: Greylag Goose - 48 ; Fieldfare - c50 - with c30 Redwings and 100 starlings
  • Crookes: Waxwing - 3 - Perched in tree on Stannington View Road, dropping into gardens periodically.
  • Fulwood: Brambling - 1 - scarce at present
