Peat Pits: Wheatear - 1 - feeding in surrounding fields . ; Kestrel - 2

Renishaw Park: GREAT WHITE EGRET - 1 - Bird still present this afternoon. Please note the park is private, there is no public access to the lake (except see below) and very few observers have permission to bird the site. If you do not have permission please access via the hall where there is an admittance fee (£7, £6.50 concessions). Please do not trespass at this site.

River Don, Norfolk bridge: Cormorant - 4 - over S at 9:10am

West Nab: Little Owl - 2 - calling from dry stone walls .

Aldwarke; Liberty Steel: Feral Pigeon - 60-70 ; Peregrine - 1 - adult - probably female - sat on chimney & hunting FPs from 0815hrs ; Sparrowhawk - 1 - f/imm over ; Lapwing - 57 - flushed form stockyard area by SH or PE ; Cormorant - 8 - max on pylon by 0825hrs

Barlow Common: Common Gull - 1 - Juvenile ; Black-headed Gull - 100+ ; Lesser Black-backed Gull - 35+ - Mostly adults. All gulls on field being ploughed by tractor across from Barlow Primary School

Cinder Bridge Field: Common Buzzard - 2 - 1 W @ 1030hrs & 1 over, 1100-1105hrs ; Merlin - 1 - female watched harassing RNs & BZ for several minutes before leaving SW @ 1106hrs ; Raven - 2 - over low together, drifted slowly E @ 1052hrs; harassed by ML; lost from sight @ 1106hrs

Firsby Res: Moorhen - 6 - Feeding on mud. ; 320 - 4 - Main Res. ; Snipe - 1 - Feeding at waters edge. ; Black-headed Gull - 2 - Over. ; Jackdaw - 12 - Flushed by clay pigeon shooters. ; House Martin - 10+ - Over site. ; Goldcrest - 1 - Calling in woodland. ; Long-tailed Tit - 15+ ; Lesser Black-backed Gull - 6 - Overhead East-West ; House Martin - c8

Grange Park Golf Course: Kestrel - 1 - Male ; Hirundine - 1 ; Meadow Pipit - 10+ - Feeding ; Chiffchaff - 1 - singing ; Long-tailed Tit - 1+ ; Coal Tit - 1+ ; Blue Tit - 1+ ; Nuthatch - 1 - calls ; Carrion Crow - 4+ ; Jay - 1 ; Magpie - 1+ ; Chaffinch - 2 ; Goldfinch - 1+ ; Bullfinch - 1 - calls

Higher Stubbin: Grey Heron - 1 - N ; Sparrowhawk - 2 - over @ 1112hrs

Holling Dale: Crossbill - 30+ - Large noisy mixed flock with Siskins feeding on Spruce crop. Many birds singing, at least 2 juveniles in flock. ; Siskin - 20+ - probably many more, hard to count. ; Nuthatch - 2 - with tit flock ; Coal Tit - c40 - large mobile tit flock, mainly consisting of Coal Tits.

Holmebrook Valley Park: Mallard - 52 ; Moorhen - 9 ; Coot - 6 ; Tufted Duck - 1 - Male ; Great Crested Grebe - 1 ; Mute Swan - 6 ; Black-headed Gull - 1 - Flew over

Hurlfield: Hobby - 1 - flew south at rooftop height at 14:10

Listerdale: Common Buzzard - 04-May - 4 over @ 0750hrs, dirfted off SW; 1 over mobbed by corvids @ 0825hrs

Manor Fields Park: House Martin - 12 - south thru site 14:45. ; Swift - 1 - single bird low thru at 15:02 ; Chiffchaff - 1 - calling from trees by top pond.

Middleton Moor: Lesser Black-backed Gull - 55 ; Black-headed Gull - 16 ; Yellow-legged Gull - 1 - Adult ; Tufted Duck - 8 ; 320 - 6 ; Pied Wagtail - 32 - Catching insects on shore
