  • Aldwarke: Meadow Pipit - 1 ; Grey Wagtail - 2 ; Bullfinch - 1 - male ; Magpie - 7 ; Redwing - 3 ; Pink-footed Goose - c125 - c50 E @ 0956hrs; 75 SE @ 1012hrs ; Pied Wagtail - 1 ; Herring Gull - 4 - SW ; Woodcock - 2 - flushed within a few metres of each other ; Jack Snipe - 1 - flushed almost literally under observer's nose! ; Greylag Goose - 40 - SW @ 1016hrs (probably 'Grey' geese from Dalton/Thrybergh earlier)
  • Aldwarke; Liberty Steel: Peregrine - 1 - feeding on top of chimney @ 0735hrs; gone by 0750hrs (hunting by floodlights?)
  • Blackburn Meadows NR: Pink-footed Goose - 130 at least - East at 9.50 ; Snipe - 1 ; Jack Snipe - 1 - Flushed from North West corner of Ferham Lake. ; Water Rail - 1 ; 320 - 9
  • Canklow Woods: Lesser Redpoll - 38
  • Centenary Riverside: Kingfisher - 1 - Female, made its way under bridge downstream. 15.00

  • North Lees, Hathersage: Kingfisher - 1 - on small brook, calling a lot and last seen heading up past the campsite.
  • Norwood Allotments: Raven - 2 - over west calling at 13:30 ; Starling - 11 - over east just before dusk. The first from here for several days. Very scarce lately.
  • Orgreave Lakes: Whooper Swan - 4 - 2 ads + 2 juvs until 09:20
  • Parkgate; *Banana* plantation: Herring Gull - 9 - 7 N; 1 E; 1 SW ; Siskin - 9+ - over, calling ; Magpie - 11 ; Raven - 2 - low to SW calling @ 0750hrs; lost over Parkgate
