Poolsbrook Marsh: Water Rail - 3 - 1 seen briefly and 2 others heard on the far side of the 'signal box' pool - presumably more visible due to high water levels ; Kingfisher - 1 ; Green Woodpecker - 1 - calling ; Meadow Pipit - 2 - flew S ; Cetti's Warbler - 3 - separate birds heard calling ; Dipper - 1 - seen briefly on small pond SE of main pool - flew off and on to the Doe Lea before heading towards Markham Vale - my first here ; Reed Bunting - 7 ; Blackbird - 8

Redmires Middle Res: Barn Owl - 1 - South side of reservoir at 09:30

Redmires Top Res: Goldeneye - 1 - female type briefly on top res, flew towards middle res.

Rotherham; Northfield: Herring Gull - c50 - visiting recycling centre & loafing on rooftops ; Great Black-backed Gull - 80+ - visiting recycling centre & loafing on rooftops; vast majority adults, including colour-ringed bird 3K6B (yellow) ringed at Harewood Whin landfill site W of York on 19/01/2018 with no sightings in between
